- Sheng Huo Neng Yuan Ke Ji Company Limited

Sheng Huo group was established in 1986 through a project funded by the National Science and Technology Commission. We have brought together national-level research forces to tackle the challenging technological applications of green energy and the conversion of green methanol applications into negative net carbon emissions. The goal is to replace traditional energy sources that cause heavy pollution and low energy consumption efficiency. Under the theoretical guidance of experts such as Academician Min Enze, known as the "Father of Chinese Catalysts," and Nobel Laureate in Physics, Academician Yang Zhenning, the Sheng Huo Guangdong technology team which led by Academician Liu Ke has been actively engaged in the research and development of the green energy industry.
The establishment of the China Smart Energy Industry Alliance is a significant measure to implement the important instructions and guidance of President Xi. With guidance from the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, as well as with strong support from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the National Energy Administration, the alliance was jointly initiated and established by State Power Investment Corporation, China Electricity Council, central enterprises in the domestic energy sector, local state-owned enterprises, well-known private enterprises, research institutes, and universities.
The mission of the alliance is to "build a national energy core, construct a smart energy ecosystem, and secure national energy security." Its goal is to become an "authoritative platform for integrating and sharing resources in the smart energy industry that is globally influential, in both public and professional aspects." The alliance is committed to creating four major service platforms: an "informative resource integration platform," a "technology innovation incubation platform," an "industrial application promotion platform," and an "industry-finance integration service platform." It focuses on the formulation of national standards and regulations for the smart energy industry, the construction of energy industry internet platforms and data sharing, collaborative research and industrialization of core smart energy technologies, implementation of major demonstration projects for smart energy applications, and international exchanges and market development along the Belt and Road Initiative.
The establishment of the alliance is of great significance for promoting technological innovation throughout the entire value chain of China's smart energy industry, enhancing the overall development level and international competitiveness of the industry, advancing the revolutionary reform in the energy sector, promoting high-quality development of central enterprises, building a national energy system which is clean, low-carbon, safe, and high efficiency, and ensuring national energy security.
In July 2021, the School of Transportation and the School of Energy and Power Engineering at the former Wuhan University of Technology merged to form the School of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Energy Engineering. The school has established the National Water Transport Safety Engineering Research Center, the Key Laboratory of High-performance Ships under the Ministry of Education, the Key Laboratory of Ship Power Engineering Technology in the Transportation Industry, the Laboratory for Intelligent Control of Marine Diesel Engine in the National Engineering Laboratory for Ship Power Systems, the National Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center for Ship Transportation Experimental Training, and the Sub-center of the Collaborative Innovation Center for Advanced Ships and Deep Sea Exploration Equipment. It has also established research and teaching bases in collaboration with China Merchants Industry Holdings, China State Shipbuilding Corporation, and Nanjing Port Co., Ltd., providing strong support for high-quality talent development.
Guangzhou Ship International Maritime Science Research Institute and Guangzhou Ship Sea Science Institute is dedicated to solving the bottleneck issues in the research and development of high-end marine vessels and key technologies. It aims to promote the independent and controllable core supporting systems of high-end marine equipment, advance the high-level technological self-reliance in the marine science and technology industry, and provide scientific support for the development of the marine economy and technology in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
